The Teacher Education Institute is a ten day course, assisting educators with their understanding of the Holocaust and genocide. Sessions focus on historical background and pedagogy which link to the Virginia Standards of Learning requirements. TEI is offered in partnership with Longwood University and is funded through a generous gift from the Lipman Foundation.
- Week 1 (Online Session): Monday, June 18–Friday, June 22, 2018
- Week 2 (at the VHM): Monday, June 25–Friday, June 29, 2018
- Week 1 (Online Session): Monday, July 16–Friday, July 20, 2018
- Week 2 (at the VHM): Monday, July 23–Friday, July 27, 2018
This Institute is recommended for middle and high school educators that would like to or currently teach the Holocaust in their classrooms. For your application to be complete, you will need a recommendation from your principal, department head or curriculum specialist, which you can send below. The $50 course fee is nonrefundable.
