Over the next several years, the Museum will complete renovations and upgrades to our building on East Cary Street. These renovations are pivotal to the Museum’s stewardship of its extensive collection and exhibits. The renovations include:
Replacing half of our 120,000 sq. ft. roof Pending
Installing an updated HVAC system
Upgrades to the Security System On Going
Expansion of storage in the Library and Archives Completed Spring 2016

Exhibit Renovation Campaign
The Virginia Holocaust Museum is currently undergoing a multi-year renovation of our core exhibits. This process will update, modernize and expand the main exhibits, while focusing on threading the voices of Virginia’s Survivors into the narrative. These renovations will support our mission to educate and inspire future generations of Virginians to fight prejudice and indifference.

Penny Campaign
Since 1999, over 4.3 million pennies have been donated by schools, classes, and clubs from across Virginia. The Penny Campaign was begun by Rachel Rosenbaum as a pedagogical strategy to help quantify the more than 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
