Top 5 Reasons to take TEI

This week we will be showcasing the top 5 reasons to take our Teacher Education Institute. The deadline for applications is May 1st, so be sure to apply soon.

This summer the Virginia Holocaust Museum will be offering the Alexander Lebenstein Teacher Education Institute. The Institute is a ten day course, assisting educators with their understanding of the Holocaust and genocide. Sessions focus on historical background and pedagogy which link to the Virginia Standards of Learning requirements. TEI is offered in partnership with Longwood University and is funded through a generous gift from Weinstein Properties.

2016 Schedule:

Session One
Week 1 (Online Session): July 4–9, 2016
Week 2 (at the VHM): July 11–15, 2016

Session Two
Week 1 (Online Session): August 1–5, 2016
Week 2 (at the VHM): August 8–12, 2016

Reason 1: Meet and have dinner with Holocaust Survivors living in Richmond.
Reason 2: Earn 90 points towards re-certification. In addition to the continuing education points, you can also earn graduate credit.
Reason 3: Learn from nationally recognized Holocaust historians, including Dr. Charles Sydnor and Dr. Melissa Kravetz.
Reason 4: Discover Holocaust education resources for classroom use.
Reason 5: Create lesson plans to use in your classroom.
