The U.S. and the Holocaust: Teaching the History, Best Practices & Resources Workshop

The Virginia Holocaust Museum (VHM) and Virginia Public Media present “The U.S. and the Holocaust: Teaching the History, Best Practices and Resources.” Join the Museum’s Director of Education, Megan Ferenczy and Director of Collections, Tim Hensley as we examine the response of the United States to the events that were unfolding in Europe from 1933 to 1945. Learn about the history, best practices, and resources to use in the classroom. Educators will have opportunities to explore and interact with Museum archival resources and the Ken Burn’s documentary, “The U.S. and the Holocaust.”

This workshop is free for educators and includes:

  • Lunch
  • Museum resources and a copy of “Americans & the Holocaust: A Reader”
  • A certificate of attendance

A limited number of scholarships are available for teachers 120+ miles from Richmond. Scholarships are to help cover travel, housing, and meals. Please contact Megan Ferenczy at mferenczy@vaholocaust.org to apply.
