Become a Docent
Docents lead multiple weekly tours for of the museum’s exhibits for school groups. The docent will be required to complete a January apprenticeship and to complete a list of required readings, as well as competently lead a tour for the Director of Guest Services before beginning docenting work. Docents will also take part in all docent training activities as his/her schedule allows. Student should be available 2-3 hours a day for at least 2 days per week (mornings are preferable).
Qualifications Include: excellent communication skills and comfortability speaking in front of crowds. Background/familiarity with the Holocaust and World War Two-era Europe preferred.

The Virginia Holocaust Museum is committed to providing meaningful internship experiences to qualified applicants in a variety of fields. Unlike some internship experiences, we are dedicated to mentoring our interns in working on actual projects that will have tangible results and provide professional training for the job market.
