"Letter’s From Brno:"  Teaching About the Holocaust Through Personal Stories Educator Workshop January 29th, 2024 10am-2:30pm at the Virginia Holocaust Museum Deadline to Register:  January 26, 2024   Join the Virginia Holocaust Museum and Karen Kruger, writer, and director of the powerful documentary “Letters from Brno.” Using Karen’s family’s story, we will address best practices of Holocaust education using primary resources and survivor voices.  The workshop will also give educators the opportunity to screen the film “Letters from Brno.”  Participants will then be led on a guided tour of the updated Museum exhibits by VHM Director of Education, Megan Ferenczy.  Tour discussion will be focused on educational approaches, best practices, and stories of Virginia Holocaust survivors. About the film “Letter’s from Brno:” Letters from Brno tells the powerful, personal story of love and sacrifice during the Holocaust. In a 45-year search for clues to her mother’s past, daughter, Karen Kruger uncovers the tragic fate of her grandparents through their letters written during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia.
