Statement About Hamas Attack on Israel

The Virginia Holocaust Museum (VHM) strongly condemns the brutal and savage attacks carried out by Hamas militants on Israel over the weekend. The terrorists invaded Israeli towns, slaughtered residents and took innocent civilians hostage – including women, children, the elderly (including two Holocaust Survivors). The vicious attacks have resulted in the tragic loss of lives and injuries to thousands.

Today, we stand in solidarity with the our brothers and sisters in Israel. We express our heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones – and we pray for the hostages and for their quick and safe return.

As a Holocaust museum, we are dedicated to preserving the history of the Holocaust and fighting against hatred and indifference. After the Holocaust, Israel was the only nation on earth to welcome the survivors with open arms. Now it is our turn to open our arms and support her.
